Housing Authority Spring Break Camp

Our Housing Authority of the City of Austin (HACA) Spring Break Camp is this week at four sites: Meadowbrook, Shadowbend, Booker T. Washington, and Goodrich/Manchaca Village. Our talented Teaching Artists are hard at work painting murals, making puppet shows, and filming movies with HACA students. We also have several hard-working volunteers lending a hand at the HACA sites this week.

It has been a treat working with these volunteers over the last nine months. A b Jordan McDole, Marett Hanes, Margarita Hutchinson, Margaret Burke, Ajia Wallaceig thank you to, and Elexia Lowe for donating their patience, dedication, and 180 hours to HACA this year!

P.S.: My favorite big hairstyle is Sylvie Vartan. See you at the  Big Hair Country Fair on March 24th at the Salt Lick Pavilion. Proceeds support Theatre Action Project. For tickets visit: TAP Big Hair.

About creativeactionaustin

We are based in Austin, Texas and reach more than 16,000 young people every year through our unique blend of theatre and education programs. Our programs expose young people to critical social problems and offer opportunities for them to creatively think about how they can be a part of solutions to these problems. Creative Action is a unique blend of art and education – for us, the two are intertwined. We believe that using the arts as a teaching method provides a fun, engaging and inspiring way to learn – it incorporates the whole mind and body.
