Last week, the Theatre Action Project full-time staff spent time at Mo-Ranch in Hunt, TX for our annual staff retreat. We headed up for some much needed bonding time and to plan for the upcoming year. It was such a beautiful sight up there (and we even got the opportunity to see some rain). We really had a lot of fun getting to see each other after a crazy summer of camp and being out of the office.
We did some team-building by having different food crews that prepared each meal and a word that they had to represent (interactive, theatrical, educational, and refreshing). My team was in charge of the dinner on Thursday night and we were supposed to make our meal “theatrical” and oh, did we sure do that. From behind a curtain, and screaming, pirates poured forth and grabbed our crew! The table was prepared with pirate toys, tattoos and random pirate names. Each employee then shared a story of who they were and how they became a pirate. It was a load of laughs and roaring pirate lingo. I have never had such a fun dinner.
Our weekend ended with a trip to the pool and some much needed relaxation. This was my first staff retreat ever and I sure had a blast getting to know more about the people that grace TAP’s presence.
I just wanted to share a few photos from those days, taken by Anita Ashton.
