Interested in volunteering and making a difference in the lives of young people?

by Cassie Swayze, After School Program Associate VISTA

Interested in volunteering and making a difference in the lives of young people? Love working artistically or wanting a challenge? Want to gain valuable teaching experience?

Then volunteering in Theatre Action Project‘s After-School program may be the right place for you! This entails a once a week commitment in a dynamic After-School class exploring social themes through theatre, art, music, dance, and drama!

After-School volunteers spend one afternoon a week for an entire semester working with a TAP Teaching Artist in a classroom. We currently need volunteers in Austin, Del Valle, and Manor ISD. Volunteers model student behavior, act as extra eyes and hands in the classroom, and help out with special projects like building sets for plays or filming a video. Theatre or arts skills not required but passion and enthusiasm is a necessity!

Contact Cassie Swayze, at cassie@theatreactionproject.org or 512.442.8773 if you’d like to hear more about volunteering with TAP After-School.
