HACA Summer Camp Volunteers Needed

by Cassie Swayze, After School Programming Associate VISTA

Theatre Action Project needs superstar volunteers for our Housing Authority of the City of Austin (HACA) Summer Camp!

The camp is taking place August 1st – August 11th; Monday – Thursday. We need volunteers at the Goodrich (Manchaca Village), Shadowbend, and Meadowbrook HACA sites. Program times vary – either 12-3PM or 3-6PM daily. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on teaching skills in the classroom. Volunteers will lend a hand, help create performance, play games, and generally act as fabulous assistants to our talented Teaching Artists!

The After-School Volunteer Coordinator is willing to work around your schedule! If your availability varies we are happy to discuss a flexible commitment. A detailed volunteer orientation is required before volunteering with Theatre Action Project. If you’re interested in volunteering with TAP After-School at our HACA Summer Camp please contact Cassie Swayze at or call (512) 442-8773.

About creativeactionaustin

We are based in Austin, Texas and reach more than 16,000 young people every year through our unique blend of theatre and education programs. Our programs expose young people to critical social problems and offer opportunities for them to creatively think about how they can be a part of solutions to these problems. Creative Action is a unique blend of art and education – for us, the two are intertwined. We believe that using the arts as a teaching method provides a fun, engaging and inspiring way to learn – it incorporates the whole mind and body.
