Happy Bunnies

by Texas Tower Public Relations

The latest event in the collaboration between the Theater Action Project and Austin’s Paramount Theater, Knuffle Bunny: A Cautionary Musical, by Mo Wilems was a huge success. The story illustrates a stuffed animal’s first trip to the laundry and a little girl’s first words. With Easter just around the corner, the children were ecstatic to come see a play about a lovable bunny.

Before and after the play, the children lined up to make puppet rabbits at the TAP tables as part of a fun pre-show craft activity. Their smiles shined as they put together paper bunnies puppets, which they, like Trixie in the play, could call their own. Volunteers were eager to help with the arts and crafts.

“TAP’s involvement makes it a more holistic, interactive experience so that it’s more of an event rather than just seeing a play,” said Nat Miller, Paramount staff member.

The partnership between TAP and the Paramount Theatre has been an incredibly positive experience over the past three years, and we are excited to see what’s in store for the future.
