Calling all Artists! Tomorrow is the Deadline!

AIDS Service of Austin is looking for artists to design ASA’s 2010 holiday card.

Since the beginning of the AIDS crisis, artists have been disproportionately affected by the epidemic; artists have also contributed mightily to addressing the disease through their work (think AIDS Memorial Quilt, and Artists Against AIDS.)

The card artwork is a powerful way to remind people that one of every 378 Austinites has tested positive for HIV, and that one in five people who are positive do not know their status. The card art is also an opportunity to remind card recipients to think compassionately of our neighbors living with HIV and AIDS in the upcoming holiday season.

If you would like to be considered for creating the artwork, please submit a link to your portfolio. The deadline for expressing interest is Wednesday, September 1, and artists would have much of September to work on the piece.
