Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act

TAP is all about reaching youth through the creative arts to teach them about social issues that pertain to them! We recently came across this article and this bill would help serve the youth we work with on a daily basis. Take a look to learn more!

The Senate passed the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act this month, a bill that provides an additional $4.5 billion over 10 years to federal child nutrition programs including school lunch.If this is signed into law, it will be the first time in 30 years that the government has given additional funding to these programs.

Right now, Round Rock, and Georgetown are re-vamping their menus, working to get healthier meals to their students.
