Hear Del Valle’s Roar!

For the month of June, I had the privilege of being part of Del Valle Elementary’s summer programming. One of my goals while working at DVE was to provide the campers with fun hands on experiences. Working with a group of K-1st graders provided an excellent opportunity to do storybook theatre based on Who’s in Rabbit’s House? by Verna Aardema. The players in the book wear masks to represent the animals they are acting out,and this inspired the students to create beautiful plaster masks.

My 4th-5th graders focused on filmmaking. We studied the silent film genre and storyboarded our own silent films. Check out the films below!

The students at Del Valle Elementary were wonderful to work with. They have an immense amount of energy and dedication, and they are so much fun! I look forward to all the wonderful things TAP will do in Del Valle ISD!
