Summer at Ojeda Junior High School

Our percussion class was a blast at Ojeda. We made five different instruments from different parts of the world. We started in Portugal with the adufe (frame drum). Then headed to Mexico and made rainsticks. Next came the bongos from Cuba, cuicas from Brazil, and talking drums from Ghana. The best part was that each instrument was totally personalized, decorated, and made unique by each student. We played them, talked about each culture, and then Chris helped as make a documentary/commercial to highlight all of our work. Totally a success!
