TAP at the Paramount Theatre

This past Sunday, Theatre Action Project put on two Dr. Seuss hat-making workshops at the Paramount Theatre for patrons of Seussical the Musical. Boy were we overwhelmed with the interest! We had boys and girls of all ages coming to make really creative hats-using funky scissors, construction paper, markers, etc… Dr. Seuss would have been impressed!

Among the participants were TAP’s own theatre company members from the Ann Richards School for Girls, Reilly Elementary students escorted by Program Specialist Andrea Alvarez, and someone who had won a TAP organized birthday party (auctioned off at our annual fundraiser). The recipient of the TAP Birthday Party told me that one of the attending kids has decided he wants to have all his future birthday parties at her house because it was so fun. All in all, we had a great time, serving about 200 children and their parents. It was pretty cool seeing all those kids in the theatre with their Seuss hats on. There were even a few parents with them on, too!
