TAP TV!

by Brian C. Fahey, TAP in the Classroom Program Director

In one month Theatre Action Project will host our Spring Break Creativity Camp at Trinity United Methodist Church in Hyde Park. We’ve taken our popular film camp and expanded the scope. This year our campers will create a television network: TAP TV! TAP TV is a different kind of network – one that is socially responsible and empowers the youth of today. Our campers will work together on creative projects including: music videos, short films, public service announcements, and news segments that inspire youth to make the world a better place. We invite friends and family to the network launch on Friday afternoon. Over the years our students have created short film projects that showcased their creativity, whimsy and talent. We’ve selected a few of our favorites below. Click on them the images on the right to view  Test Day and The Queen.

Abby

Abby Video Series

by Marcelo Teson, Teaching Artist, Theatre Action Project

The film students at Del Valle Middle School are raising the bar again. Their follow up to last year’s The Queen is an incredible 3-episode web series titled Abby. Both funny and meaningful, the series examines everything from school cliques to sibling rivalries to TAP-esque after school programs. The kids are incredibly proud of their work.

My wish is for you to view this original website series and afterward give us your feedback on how we did.  Click here to view the rest of the series.

We hope you enjoy watching it as much as they did making it.
